Now Indian Authorities have found huge reserves of Uranium Near the Indo-China border at Mechuka Valley, Arunachal Pradesh.
Although it was very tough to explore Uranium through Air and heliborne mediums Because of the high mountainous terrain. scientists went to the farthest Mechuka valley just 3kms near the Indo-China border to start exploration.
Mechuka is a small town located at the height of 6000 feet above sea level in Mechuka valley of Arunachal Pradesh.
Uranium ore was found at the depth of 619 meters below the ground. This discovery will greatly benefit the energy hunger of the Growing economic power of India.
scientists are also exploring some sites in Manipur, Assam, and Nagaland states for potential Uranium discoveries.
worldwide uranium production in 2015 was stood at 60496 tonnes and 70% of uranium was produced by only 3 countries Canada, Kazakistan, and Australia. Uranium is a clean source of energy which is a need of the hour for the booming Indian Economy.
China always claims India’s Arunachal Pradesh as his territory and the discovery of Uranium in that area means a rise in possible geopolitics over that territory. But after the recent face-off with China in Ladakh India is now strongly proclaiming its territorial integrity by building better infrastructure and discovering minerals in border regions.
